 Land Rover off road driving ExperienceThe Drumlanrig land rover off-road driving experience is a fantastic way to experience the best of South West Scotland, an area unrivalled in the richness and diversity of its natural history.
Why not join the Buccleuch Ranger Service on a journey from the delightful River Nith to the rugged beauty of the high tops of the Lowther Hills, enjoying a wildlife spectacle along the way. Our woodlands are diverse with specimen trees from around the world and fine examples of native semi-natural woodland which supports a large variety of wildlife. Red squirrels, otters and an interesting array of birdlife including pied flycatchers, woodpeckers and owls are regularly spotted on our trips.
From the valley floor, our journey takes us ever upwards through the heather moorland with its resident grouse population and onwards to the summit. Breathtaking views await, where on a good day the Lakeland Fells, Galloway Hills and the Solway coastline dominate the horizon. A stop for refreshments here gives you time to enjoy the panoramic vista providing an unforgetable hill top experience. Follow the route the glaciers took when they formed the rolling landforms, past U-shaped valleys and back to the River Nith and Drumlanrig.
Your guide for the trip will be a Drumlanrig Ranger, who has many years experience working in the area and a wide knowledge of the landscape, natural history and land management.
